Thompson Lake became clear of ice so a boat could travel from the Heath to Pismo Beach on March 24. Ever since records were kept starting in 1902, the earliest previous ice out recorded was on March 29, 1981, 5 days later, and this was the only date for a March ice out. Our Ice Out winners are Harry & Vicky Carpenter and Richard Hawes, who all guessed March 27.
